Lately I’ve Been…

Let’s catch up, shall we?

Until I’ve perfected a recipe to share with you, or am ready to go on another mini-rant, I’ll probably fill up my blog with a whole lot of randomness. It’s my style, what can I say?

I grabbed this survey from Emily at My Healthyish Life. An honest and passionate runner, celiac, and all around cool lady, Emily’s blog is one of my favorites. Check it out!

So! Lately, I’ve been…

Making: my apartment feel more like home, by adding touches of art & new linens.

I painted this! Go me!

Cooking: stir fries and healthy pancakes.

Drinking: coffee, water, repeat.

Reading: Yes Please by Amy Poehler. It’s so good. First book in over a year that I cannot put down!

Wanting: to travel! I’ve got the travel bug and am hoping to see Denver, Portland, or San Francisco within the next year.

Wasting: time in the evenings with books & vinyls, over Netflix & Spotify.

Enjoying: spending time outside, before it gets crazy hot in Texas.

Liking: inexpensive produce at this time of year. Berries and veggies galore!

Wondering: what changes will come next week when my department moves to the other side of the office.

Loving: my sore muscles after an intense strength workout.

Needing: to catch up with my friends from home, in ways other than texting.

Wearing: shorts to the bars. Texas is too hot for jeans, I don’t even caaaaare!

Noticing: how much I’ve grown into a more carefree, easygoing person over the last year.

Knowing: no matter how uncertain life can seem, staying positive is key.

Thinking: about how much can change over a year or two.

Feeling: thankful for my family, friends, and the circumstances in my life. ❤

Tell me…what are you loving lately? Thinking about lately? Reading lately?

  1. I like this survey — may use it too! I’ve also been reading more lately, but I’ve also been tuning out of technology in the evenings to try and keep my head clear. I haven’t been I’m also thinking how crazy fast this year is flying by — I can’t believe it’s nearly July! I love that you’re into vinyl, because it’s so rad and makes music feel tangible again. Hope you’re having a great week, Emily! 🙂

  2. Love this! It’s so fun to get a peak inside my favorite peep’s minds. I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately after I hit that “1 year” mark of being an “adult” – Sometimes looking back can be a nice reminder of how much you can do and change and remind you that you can keep chuggin’ forward

  3. What you said was so sweet! You rock. I know i told you this but “Yes, Please” was so good! I actually listened to it on audio tape and it was fun to hear it read in her voice. Today I’ve been thinking about the whole positive mindset/attitude thing. It’s hard for me at times to remain optimistic but it makes a world of a difference in the long run.
