Marvelous Monday ~ Simple Pleasures

Coming off of a busy, sunny, reflective sort of weekend, I realized I’m in a strange period in my life.

Basically just starting out on my own, I make tons of mistakes (but I hope I learn from them). I second guess everything. I ask for advice. When it comes to mostly everything, I’m figuring it out as I go.

In some ways, I’m a different person than I was a year, two years, five years ago.

But one thing I hope I always carry with me is the ability to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. They are what makes life marvelous.

Marvelous is… French toast with banana, blackberry, sliced almonds, and powdered sugar for breakfast. Hi Stevie!

Marvelous is… being up bright and early to attend the Cap 10k. It was weird to be working and not running, but still really cool to be a part of this event.

Marvelous is… a very anticipated burger! I had been wanting a freshly grilled burger basically since the onset of my vegan challenge. I can’t say this one hit the spot 100%, but it did the job for now.

Marvelous is… the simplest of snacks, and a fridge full of fresh produce to anticipate the week ahead.

Marvelous is… cutting yourself slack, trusting the process, and growing every day.

  1. Such a cute post! My simple pleasure was eating a big bowl of chickpea “cookie dough” while cuddling with my hubby. As a newlywed I get so happy about those moments. I hope I always cherish them.

I also bought myself flowers this weekend. It’s a day maker!

  2. I love this. I can 100% relate to feeling like I’m constantly in a state of change and making mistakes left and right (trying trying to learn).
Taking time to enjoy the little things is really one of the best parts of life. It’s crazy how the smallest moments can be the ones that you remember.
Stevie is so cute! I love dog sitting. I need to step up my flower game, Trader Joe’s makes it so affordable too there’s really no excuse.

    Happy Monday Emily!

  3. So cute! I too find that taking stock of the little things in life can make everything just a little brighter. My own puppy’s face is one of those things that can pick me up… Just like running in the sun, ice cream, and such!
