WIAW – Vegan Ice Cream + My New Kryptonite

It’s been too long since I’ve done a WIAW post – I’ve got some catching up to do!

I haven’t cooked anything too elaborate lately. It’s cold. I’m getting lazy (so not like me). So, I’m all about quick and easy. The highlights of my week have definitely been the sweets I’ve been craving as the weather gets colder. Puttin’ on that winter layer, you know. ;]

Fall into good habits, yeah.. “good” is a relative term.

Let’s back up and start with the weekend, shall we?

Nada Moo coconut milk ice cream in Vanilla Chai and Chocolate Almond Chip -- I couldn't decide!

Friday night = Nada Moo coconut milk ice cream. This was an impulse purchase… sooo pumped that I tried it. Not a bad nutritional profile (130 cal, 10g sugar), based in Austin, and soo delicious! Can’t wait to try the Maple Pecan flavor.

The Pink Panther smoothie from JuicelandSaturday treats… (unpictured – the Dunkin’ coffee AND froyo I also got .. whoops ;))

This Juiceland smoothie was SO awesome — strawberry, banana, watermelon juice, beet, pecan, coconut oil and cayenne.

Yogurt on toast for breakfast on Sunday morning. This is my new go-to for quick breakfasts with a good balance of carbs and protein. Thanks, Instagram, for the inspiration!

A pretty standard weeknight dinner. Trader Joe’s chicken sausage, green beans, side salad (leftover from a restaurant), sweet potato with peeeebz. =)

And then there’s these suckers…
Yogurt peppermint holiday pretzels from central market are so addicting! These stupid peppermint + yogurt covered pretzels from the holiday bulk section of Central Market are MY KRYPTONITE. I’m sorry, is there crack in these????!!?!

Confession — I bought a baggie full on Friday, and they didn’t even make it out of the car. ;D Oops. When I got some more (obv.), I rationed them out in these baby Tupperwares to make them last over the course of the week. Or, you know, more than the car ride home. #yolo

Your Turn-

  • What have you been craving lately?
  • What food is your weakness?

  1. I LOVE THOSE PRETZELS FROM CENTRAL MARKET. So good. So addicting. Central Market is life. I really miss it while I’m living in NYC. They have one of the best chipotle aoili sauces I have ever had. My family stocks up on it and sometimes brings me a jar up here. I’ll definitely have to try that ice cream when I’m in Austin next month for my break. Sounds good.

    • Right?! Ughhh Central Market is my guilty pleasure, haha. I may or may not sample from the bulk section as well πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ I’ll have to keep an eye out for that aoili – and you’ll definitely have to hit up CM when youre home!

  2. Nada Moo..what a funny name! Ha!
I definitely have a sweet tooth. Bring it closer to me and I am weak, soooo weak. I cannot pass some lemon meringue pie or crumble coffee cake.
I must try putting yoghurt on toast. Never thought of that but I guess it will work out like any other spread.

  3. Yogurt/chocolate covered pretzels are always SUCH a weakness. Have you ever tried the dark chocolate covered pretzel thins? Or bark thins? They’re so so so so good. You need to. In fact, if it weren’t so cold out outside right now, I’d probably walk to the Ustore to get some… hmmmmm

  4. Yogurt on toast….love it. Confession- I made a greek ‘yogurt’ frosting for a recipe a while back (it was like, 1 T yogurt to 1 cup of sugar lol) and ate that on toast all week. It was amazing.

When I was in America last week, I bought these pretzels with peppermint on them- they were at the check out and I ate it in 2 days!

  5. I swear I have been craving Macaroni and Cheese like nobody’s business….and I’m not even much of a pasta person NOR do I hardly ever enjoy a bowl of Mac. Maybe because of the colder weather?…Also, I did send you an email about Austin and asking about recommendations and such! πŸ™‚

  6. We don’t have a Central Market around these Nebraska parts where I’m at, but chocolate covered anything is amazing, dark chocolate covered pomegranate, love em’ and eat them all up when we have them which is not very often because of the latter. πŸ˜‰
