WIAW – Fall Foods and Festival Fuel

Hello and Happy Wednesday! I always love when #WIAW rolls around — it means we’re well on our way to Friday.

The majority of my ‘What I Ate Wednesday’ photos come from this past weekend. I feel like I’m still catching up from a busy weekend. Between work, chores, cleaning, cooking and other errands, I feel like I’m all over the place. Excited to relax this weekend!

Let me tell you, it was a good food weekend. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods were both involved. Give me veggies and baked goods — I’m easy to please!

Prepared foods bar from Whole Foods is the best

Friday’s dinner — prepared foods bar at Whole Foods. The highlights were beets, nuts and roasted squash.

I jokingly tweeted, “Is it weird that my idea of treating myself on a Friday is dinner at ? Yes? Okay, glad we cleared that up.” … Truer words have never been spoken. =)

And then this happened. Pumpkin Spice Cannoli from Whole Foods bakery. Yep. Yep. Yep.

I had been holding out to treat myself for getting a new job (back in August) .. and when I saw this, I knew it was meant to be in my belly.

It was suuuch a good decision. 🙂

Continuing with the pumpkin baked goods theme…

Ambitious Kitchen Pumpkin Zucchini bread with dark chocolate chips is healthy and perfect for fall

I made Monique (Ambitious Kitchen)’s Pumpkin Zucchini Bread with dark chocolate chips. I am in love with this. It’s so healthy, too! You have to tryyyy.

On Sunday morning before ACL, I got bored. And when I get bored, I go to Trader Joe’s.

The Alt Bars and waffles were previous purchases, I just wanted to do a little pumpkin roll call. ; ) Have you guys tried any of these?!

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Brittle

This Pumpkin Seed Brittle was a very random purchase for me, but I’m so glad I got it! It’s sooo great. If there’s a Trader Joe’s near you, definitely pick this up. Such a great treat.

I didn’t purchase any food at ACL, but the most iconic Austin restaurants were very well-represented.

ACL Festival Austin Eats

I think visitors to town were loving their P. Terry’s, Torchys, Amy’s Ice Creams, and Mighty Cone. As for me?

ACL Austin City Limits festival fuel

Super simple festival fuel! I also had a Larabar and plentyyyy of water throughout the day.

As you can see, my pumpkin/squash obsession is still going strong. I have a butternut squash in the oven right now. Ahhh, don’t you just love fall foods?!

Your Turn-

  • Is there a Trader Joe’s and/or Whole Foods near you? There are none where I grew up, so I’m super appreciate of them now!
  • Whats the best pumpkin purchase you’ve made this fall?

  1. Oh my gosh! So much amazing pumpkin-y goodness in this post! Yum! We don’t have a trader joes or whole foods here in the Netherlands. A little sad.
