San Antonio Food Baby

Hi all! Hope your long weekend was a fabulous mix of fun, relaxing, summery and looong. 😉

I spent the weekend in San Antonio with my family, checking out the Riverwalk, Sea World (mixed feelings about their controversies, but that’s another story) and the Alamo.

It was a fun long weekend full of lots of food, new places, and SWEAT! … in a summer-in-Texas kind of way. I got a few hotel workouts in, but they were less than perfect. Still, better than nothing!

Remember the Alamo! .. Ironically, I kind of don’t. 😉

Yesterday, as per my request, we ate dinner at a vegetarian restaurant called ‘Green.’ I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl which was packed with kale, quinoa tabbouli, pecan hummus, falafel, dolmas, baba ganouj, olives and veggies. After a very “all over the place” sort of food weekend, it hit the spot!

I had actually seen their chalk board stuff floating around Instagram, so it was neat to stumble upon this in person:

We wrapped up Labor Day in Austin with a visit to The ABGB‘s 1st Birthday celebration here in Austin. ABGB stands for Austin Beer Garden Brewery. My Dad was a big fan — glad he enjoyed it!

Don’t mind my Ben Franklin hairdo 😉

It was a fun and indulgent weekend, and I’m very much looking forward to getting back into an oatmeal + salad + lean protein + fish routine! 😉

Your Turn–

  • What was the highlight of your Labor Day weekend?
  • What’s left on your summer bucket list?

    • Totally! I had seen the “famous vegans” part of that chalkboard on Instagram and actually screen capped it cause I thought it was neat… then totally organically (no pun intended) stumbled upon it. So cool!
